Dr. Abbas Al Fardan is a highly qualified Senior Consultant in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics, who did his specialized orthodontic training in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh & Queen Victoria Hospital (Scotland - U.K.), he is a holder of four major Speciality qualifications in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics from the U.K. & Ireland. He is currently a practicing consultant orthodontist & specialized in dental laser treatments & CEO of Alfardan Medical Center (Manama- Bahrain)

Dr. Al Fardan was born in Manama (Bahrain), He attended his elementary, intermediate & secondary schools in Bahrain. He is carrying a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Surgery in 1992 from King Saud University (Riyadh – Saudi Arabia) with Excellent Grade & Honour (Ranked First on his batch). He practiced General Dentistry as well as a Residency in Oral Surgery & Pedodontics for 3 years in the Ministry of Health (Bahrain).

In September 1995, He started his three-year Residency/Training Program in the Dental Hospital at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary as well as Queen Victory Hospital (Scotland -U.K.) under the umbrella of the University of Edinburgh. Dr. Al Fardan acquired four specialty certificates in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics; in 1997, attained the Master Degree in Orthodontics from the University of Edinburgh with Distinction (Ranked First on his batch), his Master Degree’s research was titled the Stability of Mandibular Advancement Bilateral Sagittal Split Osteotomy (BSSO).

Dr. Al Fardan achieved the Golden Medal for The Best Performance in his Fellowship of Dental Surgery in Orthodontics & Pedodontics from the Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh (FDS RCSEd) in 1997.

In 1998, Dr. Al Fardan achieved both the Membership of Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MOrth RCSEd) & Fellowship of Faculty of Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in Orthodontics (FFD RCSI).

Dr. Al Fardan returned to Bahrain in October 1998 and re-joined the Ministry of Health as Specialist Orthodontist and in April 1999 he was upgraded to consultant post and started his private practice in Salmaniah Medical Center.

Dr. Al Fardan was appointed by The Royal College of Surgeons as their Regional Dental Advisor in the Middle East Region for 10 years starting from 1999, in his region, he seeded what proved to be a deep-rooted relationship between the College & Ministry of Health of Bahrain continuing till today. This relation started with the conduction of the Fellowship of Dental Surgery exams in Bahrain, and the establishment of postgraduate training programs in general dental practice and orthodontics under the patronage of the college. At the same time, Dr. Al Fardan held the position of Head, Dental Postgraduate Programs in the Ministry of Health where he established the postgraduate training program in general dentistry (known then as MGDS Program) graduating more than 100 Dentists with membership certificates from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is continuing till today going from strength to strength. Dr. Al Fardan also established a membership training program in orthodontics where graduates currently form a sizable nucleus of practicing orthodontists in Bahrain.

Besides his passion for education, Dr. Al Fardan has expertise and passion for health care management. He attained his Diploma in Health Care Management in 2002 from The Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (Scored the Best Performance and ranked First on his Patch).

Dr. Al Fardan was then promoted to the position of Head, Oral Health Services in Bahrain and performed its duties from 2003 to 2008, where he was managing all dental clinics in Ministry of Health of Bahrain (72 dental clinics, over 150 dentists and dental specialists as well as 300 support staff). Dr. Al Fardan feels proud of the number of developments and achievements attained during his reign and those are still perceived well till today.

Dr. Al Fardan established Al Fardan Dental Specialty Center on 2002, the center started small as a single dental clinic and continue to grow gradually reaching the current state of the art multi-specialty center with six clinics, diagnostic and educational facilities providing comprehensive high quality specialized dental care.

Dr. Al Fardan chaired a countless number of task forces, committees, expert meetings and conferences during his professional career. He also lectured in a lot of local, regional and international scientific events.

Dr. Al Fardan's passions are clinical excellence, health care management, education, and quality improvement.

Dr. Al Fardan values family life as he is happily married with three daughters, the older; Layal is a practicing dentist graduated from the University College Cork (Ireland). She enjoys sports and in specific football, basketball and swimming.
